Although Rob Canyon is one of the winners from my Blog Of The Day competition from a few months back, if you’re a new reader, you may be saying “Rob who ?” … and I hope that Rob won’t mind me saying that his name is not of the highest profile. But I don’t suppose he minds that.

Why ?

Because, Rob is increasingly becoming the “Go-to Guy” for some of the BIG names when they want something done. I could tell you that about the launches he’s been involved in, massive multi-hundred-thousand-dollar launches. I could tell you about how he has re-written sales copy for one of the top dogs in internet marketing, who then went on to give Rob a fantastic testimonial. I could tell you about his stunning joint-ventures with blue chip names. And more …

But I am not going to do that – I just want to make sure that you get the idea that this guy is one that more and more Big Players want on their team when they roll out a big project. He is very busy with work for others.

Luckily for us, Rob sees it as part of his role in life to share his ideas about success with others. That’s why I highly recommend that you watch one of Rob’s two free webinars tonight. (There are two sessions to cater for those in different time zones).

I have been one of Rob’s students so I can speak with some authority on this. Rob’s approach is NOT the usual kind of stuff that you will see in so many other places. In fact at times, he comes from so far out in left field that you wonder what the heck he is on about !

But I can honestly say that after working with Rob, my ideas about how I do business on the web have changed. I am now working to implement the new ideas that he has introduced me to (which is one of the reasons that I haven’t posted much lately ! Sorry guys.)

Tonight, Rob will be discussing the top five roadblocks to success and how to overcome these. Believe me, this is a guy you should listen to: be open minded about it, listen to him and make your own mind up. After all, it won’t cost you a bean.

Find out more here.

Good question.

Well, if you spend any time around the various forums that are devoted to ClickBank affairs, you probably know the name already. If not, let me tell you that he is one of the leading vendors on ClickBank. So much so that he’s one of the people that ClickBank themselves listen to very closely.

You can find out more about him on the new page that I have put on rog-blog.com. But more importantly, you should sign-up for his free ebook, The Ultimate Supertip.

I won’t spoil the “twist” that lies inside it, but I really do commend it to you because he has put together a quite unique way of “going viral”. It’s one that I know that other marketers have used as well and it’s something that I want to incorporate in to my own marketing in due course as well.

This is time-critical, so if you know what a “giveaway” is and you want to find out about what looks like a good one, just click here.

“Giveaways” are a phenomenon that have been around for a while. Contributors sign up to the giveaway site and offer some kind of digital product, hopefully of high quality. Subscribers to the site are able to download these for free in exchange for joining the contributor’s mailing list.

Not only is it a good way of picking up some excellent products at zero cost, if you’re a contributor, it’s also a great way of building a mailing list.

I like to keep an eye on what’s coming up for both of those reasons, but I have been busy with things like my video (see my last post), so I nearly missed what I think is going to be one of the best giveaways for some time. I think it’s particularly interesting for two reasons …

First, it will only run for a total of 5 days. I think this is a smart move because provided enough people get to know about it, there will be limited time for people to “get the goods” !

Secondly, it very cleverly utilises social media to spread the word about it. I know of only one other event like this in the recent past, but I believe that it was just resticted to twitter. This one uses twitter (of course), but also uses practically every other social media platform you can think of !

Anyway, what I wanted to flag was that the sign-up period for contributors is ending today ! I only just picked this up, so I’m relieved to be in. And they have a great upgrade for contributors which makes it very attractive.

Take a peek at The 5 Day JV Giveaway and see what you think.

Discover how a top guru KICKED out the search engines, invented a REVOLUTIONARY way to market ANY product . . . then gave it away in an amazing FREE book – ending with the most STUNNING viral twist ever seen

Do you know who Rich Scheferen is ?

As the title of this post suggests, in marketing circles Rich is often known as The Guru’s Guru. That’s because he has “made” more millionaires than any other coach. Marketers that are already very successful pay him not 4-figure, but 5-figure sums to go on his training programmes.

That’s why my internet marketing coach, Alex Jeffreys, paid an eye-watering sum to be coached by Rich. And I know that Alex assigns huge credit to Rich for his own spectacular success over the last couple of years.

So it was a stunning surprise to find that Alex had arranged a bonus webinar with Rich for his Marketing With Alex 2.0 training programme students. For me, Alex didn’t need to big this up because I was already aware of Rich and his status within the marketing community. I knew that this was the kind of session that you just don’t normally get the chance to hear unless you part with BIG bucks. I knew it would be good. But even I was surprised !

What struck me about Rich was that he is very, very focussed. He tells you what he’s gonna tell you, then he tells you. His mind is so sharp and incisive and he brings such huge experience to the table. What’s more, as the King of Over-Delivery, he stayed on the call for around two and a half hours, way beyond the allotted time.

So BIG thanks to Rich for his time, expertise and skill and a HUGE thank you to Alex for pulling off this coup. Oh, and one last piece of advice …

If you ever get the chance to listen to, read or watch Rich Scheferen, grab it as quickly as you can ! You won’t be disappointed.

For today’s winner, we go even further afield than yesterday. In fact, from where I live, we go to the opposite side of the globe, to South Eastern Australia.

I have to confess that, once again, this is a blog that I have been watching for some time. I have noticed a definite theme developing in terms of the blogs that have won the Blog Of the Day Award. Almost without exception, they share certain characteristics … the best word that I can find to summarise these qualities is that they are all engaging, and that’s very true of today’s winner.

Looking at previous posts on today’s winning blog, we find good use of pictures and graphics. As far as content goes, there’s a nice mixture between internet marketing, associated topics and some personal glimpses. These definitely tell a story and they do it simply and eloquently. The latest blog post details the anxiety of preparing and shooting that important first video.

A link to the video itself would ensure even more viewers, especially because of the freeze-frame image that it would have, though this is a very minor carp on my part ! But do click on the link to see it on YouTube because it’s well worth it ! I think that this is probably the best video that I have seen by any of my fellow students so far.

Not only is it different and novel, but I found it charming and captivating. And there are double digit comments on the post that agree with me.

So, for all of this – but especially for that video – today’s Blog Of The Day Award goes to Melanie Steeden for www.melaniesteeden.com.

Congratulations Melanie, your Blog Of The Day badge is on its way !

Well, let nobody say that Alex’s coaching programme fails to deliver great value for money ! We’re just over a week in to the programme and already, a lot of ground has been covered, especially during the latest webinar which once again, extended late in to the night and on towards the early morning (in the UK anyway !).

Many of us now have our own personal blogs up and running (like this one) – unfortunately, I’ve only had the chance to look at a few of these. I know that my last post mentioned the importance of good content, and of course that’s still true. But some of these blogs just blow me away with their look and feel. I’ll put up a little widget shortly that will provide links to some of the others, so check them out.

The other great thing emerging is the sense of community amongst the students. Some are complete newbs to the online world, whilst some of us have been using computers since before there was an “online world” ! (Ahem … no names here !) Some of use strange machines like Macs or even Linux (yes, that’s me !). Some don’t know their FTP’s from their ABC’s whilst others have TCP/IP running in their veins.

BUT … one of my favourite sayings is that “We’re all stupid about something !” (Guilty on several counts, Your Honour !)

And when you realise this, it feels good to be able to help others along, because you know that you’re going to benefit in areas where you have a blind spot. For me, it used to be blogging, although I am slowly getting up to speed on this one.

The area I’m most in need of help in at the moment is Twitter. (You can follow me at twitter.com/rogblog). Some of the guys from the first group have some good resources on this, so I’m looking forward to learning more about it.

Meanwhile, there’s more to do, so I must get to it …

So, here it is. But what is it ?

Well at the moment, this is more of a “personal journey” type of blog. Specifically, it will narrate my adventures in Internet Marketing under the tutelage of Alex Jeffreys. I’ll say a little more about this on the About page when I come to write it shortly.

I’ve set up a couple of blogs elsewhere before now, both for myself and for others. There’s such a lot of good technology to get your teeth in to with WordPress blogs (yum !).

Which theme shall I use ?

Which are my favourite plug-ins ?

How does it look ?

But the thing to always remember with blogs is that it’s content that matters above all else. That’s what I’ll be aiming to put here, so watch this space !
