Thanks Evan - I am planning to do a lot more in the future and with that in mind, I posted one a couple of days ago.

Thanks for dropping by ;-)

That's a nice trick...and I would say a good first attempt at a video. I managed to get here from the MWY forum.

Thanks Syed - since I made that video, I have now looked at Google Reader a little and I can see that it's good in a different kind of way. I guess I was attracted to the home page idea because I was already using it for other stuff too, so it fitted naturally.

Best wishes,

Roger

Hi John, glad that you found it useful. Personally, I don't use Internet Explorer unless I absolutely have to (and even then, I stick to IE6 !), so I must admit that I hadn't noticed this omission. But I am surprised that Chrome doesn't show it. I guess these are all reasons to make sure that your Wordpress theme has some kind of invitation to subscribe in a prominent position.

As usual, everybody does their own thing and de facto standards only emerge over a lengthy period of time.

All the best,

Roger

Hi Roger,

Excellent video and clear instructions on how to keep track of blogs. You talk about the RSS icon appearing the the address bar, but I notice so far it's not appearing in Google Chrome or in IE8. Only Firefox and Opera appear to have this option. I wonder if anyone else has noticed this.

Great video, Roger!
I was wondering how you managed to keep track of all the students' blogs fro your Blog of the Day award. Now it's clear!

Hi Glenn - glad you like it. You can name your tabs anything you want AND you can also edit their names later if you feel the need. When a tab is "live" (i.e. it's the one you're looking at), float your mouse over it and you'll see a little "down arrow" next to its name. Choose Edit and you'll find attributes of the tab that you can change, one of which is its name. This is also where you would delete the tab if you wanted to. Hope that helps ;-)

Hi Rog,

I have been using the same old standalone for years. I never gave much attention to all the bells whistles before, so thank for pointing out this feature. I’ll give Google homepage a try and see how it goes.
