Are you a TOTAL nerd or what ?

Well, in contrast to yesterday’s entry, this is going to be brief.
I have been spending some time on my MarketingWithAlex studies today, and I have been experimenting with some video for an upcoming blog entry. I haven’t quite got the hang of it yet, but I hope to have something to look at soon.
Meantime, in the vein of the title of this post, you might well be asking if I am chained to my PC, whether I am running out of midnight oil, whether (in fact), I have a life ? ! ?
Well yes, I do. In fact, it’s confession time ! I have a secret passion …
I must now drag myself away to prepare for a night of dancing ! By that I mean, Modern Ballroom and Latin American dancing, the kind of thing that you would see on Strictly Come Dancing or Dancing With The Stars. (I also do a bit of salsa too.)
But it’s NOT really like “Strictly” ! We don’t dress up in fancy clothes and sequins. This is not competitive, this is just for fun.
And it is fun, immense, huge, exciting fun. In the muggy, humid weather that we often have in Britain at this time of year, it can be pretty tiring. But for me, that makes it the best time of year to be dancing.
Because after whizzing around the floor to the strains of the Viennese Waltz, Quickstep or Jive, you can feel your heart pounding in your chest, pumping the blood around your body. It really can be quite a workout.
And as you stand there, recovering your breath, feeling your pulse racing, you realise that you are still alive, there is life in the old dog yet, and that in the words of the character “Andy Dufresne (from The Shawshank Redemption), we have to “Get busy living, or get busy dying”.
So if you’ll excuse me, I now have to go and find my dancing shoes and then make my way to the dance floor.

Glad to hear you’re not a complete nerd! Ballroom and Latin dancing eh ? Possibly not what people would expect at all. Bit like when I tell people that I sing and perform in a community choir !
